This modern man made pond was made during the 1980s when it was dug out for raw material extraction to build the new A11 Thetford Bypass that runs beside it. It belongs to a private fishing club, but membership details are available at the lake. Located to the west of the town, and beside the Little Ouse river, It is stocked with some good sized carp. The tow path from the town leads beside this lake.
