There is plenty of good fishing or angling in Thetford. Much of the fishing along the Little Ouse river through the town centre if free - all that you need is to buy a fishing licence from the Post Office. There are also man made ponds or small lakes either side of the town, but these are private membership waters. Here is a winter photo of a carp angler with his bibby parked up by Kingfisher or Abbeyheath Lake, to the west of the town.
