The Duleep Singh Statue, Butten Island.
Prince Duleep Singh was the last Sikh Maharajah of the Punjab, born the youngest son of Ranjit Singh - the Lion of the Punjab in 1838. He was brought to England as a young boy, where he became friends with the Victorian British Royal Family. For many years, he lived near to Thetford, at Elveden Hall. During the 1990s, representatives of the British Sikh community organised a series of celebrations to coincide with the centenary of the Maharajah's death. Here, a couple of visitors are viewing the statue that was unveiled by Prince Charles on Butten Island, Thetford.
