Reconstucted Bronze Age farmstead at Flag Fen

Previous excavations on nearby higher land had already revealed a Bronze Age landscape, years before the discovery of the Flagfen structures. This lost landscape included field systems, round-houses, and 'droves' or tracks, that ran together in an alignment, down to the lower wetter land of Flagfen. An attempt at reconstruction of these settlements has been made at the Bronze Age Centre, including round houses, wattled fencing, woodwork, weaving, plants and livestock. The Flagfen round house reconstructions have used grass turf as a roofing material.
