Fred Smith at work as a wheelwright in early 1900s Norwich. Unfortunately I had to chop this tall photograph to print it at modern sizes. At the bottom, was the caption - "This is where the work is done". Fred was born and raised in the nearby market-town of Attleborough, but moved to Norwich to serve his carpentry apprenticeship.
